Unlike other California driver’s ed providers, Smart Driver charges just $29.99—one flat rate—no hidden fees, no “premium packages,” no upselling. Every teen gets full access to the complete 30-hour DMV-approved course, supplementary review materials, practice tests, and a completion certificate. No gimmicks. No add-ons. The way it should be—honest and transparent. 

Upon completing the course, your teenager will receive the DL-400C certificate, which is required for the DMV permit test. The DMV needs a wet signature from the course instructor, but there's no need to worry—we’ll mail it at no extra cost once the course is passed. Please allow 1-3 business days for delivery, and then take the certificate to your local DMV for the permit test.

Our Equity Access Program is a community-focused initiative that provides free access to our DMV-certified 30-hour online course for students from Title I schools, historically underserved communities, and first-generation students.
